Version history and rollback

Every time you publish a guide, OnboardingHub saves a permanent copy — a version. This gives you a complete history of how your guide has evolved, and the ability to go back if something goes wrong.

Viewing version history

  1. Open your guide
  2. Navigate to the Versions tab

You'll see a list of all published versions, showing:

  • Version number — sequential, starting from 1
  • Published date — when this version was created
  • Published by — the team member who published this version

Rolling back to a previous version

If you need to revert to an older version:

  1. Go to the Versions tab
  2. Find the version you want to restore
  3. Click Rollback next to that version

This replaces your current draft with the content from the selected version. Your currently published version stays live until you choose to publish the rolled-back content.

How versions work

A few things to know about versioning:

  • Versions are permanent — once published, a version can't be changed. It's a record of exactly what the guide looked like at that point.
  • Rolling back doesn't auto-publish — it updates your draft. You still need to click Publish to make the rolled-back version live.
  • Enrollments capture versions — when a contact is enrolled, the enrollment records which version was live at that time. This is useful for understanding what content a contact saw.

When to use rollback

  • You accidentally published a guide with incorrect content
  • You want to undo a restructuring that didn't work out
  • You want to restore content from an earlier version of your guide
